Best Dressed Male & Female Eras

Best Dressed Eras; In Decades

Since the conception of documenting dressing patterns; From ancient Egypt through the 21st century, to what is now called the “modern fashion industry” {considered to be the late 19th century}, has conceptualized the idea of fashion trends. The most notable of them all have been narrowed down to two decades, one decade for women’s fashion and the other for men’s.

1950’s Women’s Attire:

What’s not to appreciate about what this decade brought to women’s fashion?

The looks hit all the right shapes, patterns, cuts and designs. From A-line, fit n flare silhouettes to sheath dresses and high waisted cigarette jeans paired w/ sweetheart neckline tops, to two-piece suits, this era leaves women looking and feeling extra femme and powerful.

Designer Christian Dior and his fashions are a stellar example of the heights of injecting femineity into women’s wardrobes. For one, his two-piece power suits, cut closely to a woman’s shape, took a man’s staple and seamlessly turned it into a closet must for women across the globe. His Fit n Flare dresses fell on the shape of women as if tailor made. His utterly feminine necklines, choice of fabrics and pairings lend to the legacy of embracing and amplifying the lines of a woman’s shape Dior mastered so effortlessly.

1930’s Men’s Attire

Men never looked better.

This era perfects both the casual and formal wear in men’s attire. The perfectly fitted and waisted pants paired with a tucked in crisp white t shirt and a hip length bomber car coat over top, to nail the casual look. To a more formal look, donning a double-breasted blazer, make it pinstripe, with the slacks to match; or not, and a pair of laced up wingtips. For a look that meets in the middle, throw on a leather jacket, a simple layer underneath and a pair of classic blue jeans folded at the hem for an effortlessly stylish take on laid-back casual.
